Category Hub

The Category Hub allows administrators to present display categories using configurable Showcase style sections.

This article will walk you through how to configure your site's Category Hub and templates, ensuring a smooth transition from the Showcase page to your Category Pages.

🔔Note: Category Hub is only available for sites using the Showcase page. Please contact support@contentcatalyst.com to enable this feature.

Category Hub Admin:

To configure your templates, first head to Admin > Site Administration > Category hub.

🔔Note: Users will need to have site administrator permissions applied to access this area.

The Category Hub templates area allows admins the option to manage how category hub pages are displayed.

Assign templates to categories or customise the default layout for all unassigned categories.

The current number of custom templates is shown via the counter highlighted below.

There can be a maximum of 10 custom templates.

The default template highlighted below will apply to all categories that do not have customised templates assigned.

Select the 'Edit' option to configure an existing template.

The Hero section has 3 display options depending on how much information has been added into the corresponding Category:

The Applied categories will now appear at the top of the layout.

Save as a draft & Preview

Once a layout has been configured, administrators have the following options.

Preview:

At any point during the configuration, administrators can select the preview option.

Choose a category to see how this template will appear in the live environment when subscribers navigate to the category.

This will also generate a link with a unique ID in the URL as shown below:

Admins can share the preview link to other users to review.

Save as a draft:

Whilst working with a draft version of a Template, the top menu text will change to ‘Editing draft version’.

To revert to the previously published version of the page, select ‘Start from published version’

Only the logged-in administrator will be able to see the changes they have saved as a draft.

If more than one administrator has the draft version open to editing, only the first to make changes can save their draft.

Publish:

Once you are happy with the sections and layouts selected, select the ‘Publish’ option to save any changes to the live environment.

Published Templates will now show for the selected categories. Any categories not configured will use the default template.
