Showcase: Licensed Categories

The Licensed Categories section displays the categories a logged-in user currently has access to through their subscription. It provides a simple, visual way for users to explore the content available within their license.

Use this section to highlight the currently licensed categories for logged-in users.

This is recommended for use mainly when ‘category-level’ licensing is being assigned.

🔔Note: This section will only appear for administrators or subscribers who have at least one license category-wide license applied.

How It Works

  • The section generates a card for each category-wide license the user has.

  • If a licensed category has no published content, it will not be shown.

🔔Note: If your organisation uses report-level licensing only, we recommend using the Single Title Licenses section instead.

Category Cards Display

Each licensed category is shown as an individual card. Optional metadata can enhance these cards to give users more context and encourage further exploration.

If report-level licensing is used, try the “Single title licenses” section, which shows report-level licenses.

This section is designed to clearly display the categories a user is currently licensed for, making it easier for them to explore available content. It works best when category-level licensing is being used and will only appear if the user has at least one licensed category.

Each category is shown as a card, with the option to enhance these cards using the following optional metadata:

  • Recently Published Date – Highlights the most recent content.

  • Number of Analysts – Shows how many analysts contribute to the category.

  • Number of Reports – Indicates the volume of available content.

Tick the relevant checkboxes during section configuration to include any of these fields. The metadata will appear directly beneath the category image on the tile.

We can see the metadata displayed under the category image using the Single Category Tile for this section.

The Licensed Categories section gives users a quick overview of the categories they have access to and allows them to dive directly into relevant content. It improves navigation, surfaces content users are entitled to, and supports greater engagement with licensed research.
