# Showcase: Licensed Content By Category Cover

## This section showcases the categories a subscriber is licensed to use visually. Each licensed category appears as an image card showing the category cover. Helping users quickly identify and explore available content at a glance.

This section is ideal when using [**category-level licensing**](https://guide.contentcatalyst.com/hc/en-gb/articles/212092106-how-to-add-a-category-wide-level-license?hsLang=en), giving subscribers a clean, engaging way to understand what’s available to them.

Alongside the category image, up to four licensed report descriptions will be displayed within each category.

Subscribers can select the '**Explore Category**' option to see further reports in this category.

### What This Section Does

This section highlights the **licensed categories** for logged-in users and is most effective when **category-level licensing** is used.

Each **licensed category** appears as a **card featuring a category cover image**, with optional metadata underneath to provide further insight into the content available within that category.

🔔**Note**: This section will not display if the user does not have any licensed categories.

### How It Works

- Displays a **card for each licensed category** the user has access to.
- Each card features a **category cover** and optional metadata beneath
- Only categories that contain content will be shown
- Categories the user is not licensed for are excluded automatically.
- If the user has no licensed categories, this section will not display.

### How It’s Structured

- **Each category is shown as a card**, with a featured image to represent the topic visually.
- Cards are displayed **only for categories** the user is licensed to access.
- **Categories without any available content** are automatically excluded for a clean user experience.

This visual layout is ideal for helping users navigate their content entitlements with clarity and ease.

### Customisation Options

#### **Title**

You can customise the title of this section using the **Title** field.

#### **Metadata**

You can enhance the cards using the following **optional metadata**, displayed neatly beneath the category image:

- **Description** - Adds a summary or teaser of the report’s content.
- **Publish Date** – Highlights the most recent report in the category
- **Analysts** – Indicates the range of expert contributors

These elements can be toggled using checkboxes to tailor the experience to your platform’s goals.

**🔔Note:** for more information on report metadata, see [Adding report metadata](https://guide.contentcatalyst.com/adding-report-metadata?hsLang=en).

### Summary

- Visually showcases **licensed categories** using image cards
- Best suited for workflows using **category-level licensing**
- **Only displays categories** the user has access to (and that contain content)
- Metadata like **Published Date**, **Analyst Count**, and **Report Volume** can be added for context
- Offers an intuitive and visually appealing way to explore available content

Using the **Licensed Content by Category Cover** section adds a strong visual layer to your content platform, helping users easily understand their access and encouraging deeper engagement with licensed categories.
