Viewing Report Access Statistics

Gain a comprehensive understanding of report popularity and usage trends with in-platform report access statistics

 

Read this article to understand how to:

  • Analyse user behaviour
  • Identify the most visited reports, categories, and general usability trends

Report Access By Account

Report Access statistics can be found via Admin > Analysis > Report Access tab.

From here you can export an Excel data file, displaying all user activity in your full portfolio between your selected dates.

🔔Note: To access the Analysis area, users must have the 'Usage Analysis' administrator permissions assigned to them.

Listed below are the Log Columns (and what they mean) that will appear in your Excel download

  • Title - The report title accesed
  • Chapter - The chapter(s) in the report that were accessed
  • Price - The report price defined in the report summary
  • Report Code - The report code as listed in your subscriber portal
  • Report ID
  • Request Type:
    • Downloaded product content - a user has downloaded the product's content
    • Downloaded custom report to ... - a user has downloaded a custom report via the chosen export method (e.g ppt, doc, xls)
    • Opened chapter - a user has opened a chapter within a report
    • Opened product landing page - a user has landed on the product's landing page
    • Opened a news product or item - a user has accessed a news feed product or item
    • Opened product marketing page - a user has landed on a product's marketing page as they don't have a license
    • Stayed on the product - a user has stayed on a product for 5 minutes (1 minute for a briefing)
    • Sent product as email - a user has sent the product to someone via the send briefing to colleague method.
    • Opened file in PDF and Slide Viewer - a user has accessed a PDF and Slide Viewer product.
    • Opened external product - a user has accessed an external product
    • Searched within a product - a user has searched within a product
    • Downloaded marketing brochure - a user has downloaded a marketing brochure
  • User ID - the user's ID number as listed in the system
  • IP Address - user's IP address
  • Host Name - the host's IP address
  • Browse Date - time and date report was accessed
  • License ID - this is populated by the number of licenses created. The first is 1, the second is 2 and so on.
  • Email - user's email address
  • Phone - user's phone number
  • Job Title - user's job title
  • Department - user's department within their company
  • Username - user's username
  • Account ID - user's account ID
  • Account Name - the name of the user's associated account in the Content Catalyst system
  • Company Name - the company the user works for
  • Referrer Code - Showcase page section referrer code.

🔔  With this information, you can create pivot tables and charts in Excel.
