      Webmaster Tools

      The Webmaster Tools page allows you to verify a Google search console code, or Bing webmaster tools code.  

      The Webmaster Tools area of the site allows you to configure what content web crawlers have access to. 

      To access the page go to Admin > Site Administration > Webmaster Tools

      Search engines require proof of site ownership, to make the site searchable and use other provided search console tools.

      Search Engine Verification

      Here, you can insert a Google or Bing code which will be added to the HTML header of the homepage, as a meta tag. This may take up to 15 minutes, after which verification with Google or Bing can be completed.

      Web Crawlers

      The webmaster tools page also allows you to configure what content is accessible for web crawlers when search engines search your site.

      Editing robots.txt defines allowed and restricted areas. Note, that web crawlers can only access content that is licensed to the default guest user. It is not necessary to disallow sensitive areas such as the administration area, or paid-for content.
