These can be set for individual reports or across whole categories **🔔Note: **Showcase cover images are separate from Report and Category cover images. **See:** [Showcase: Getting Started ](https://guide.contentcatalyst.com/showcase-page-admin-overview?hsLang=en) ### **Showcase Report & Category Cover Images**   ### **Category Covers**:   Category cover images are an effective way to differentiate and brand your content visually. It’s important to note that **marketing page covers** are **separate** from **Showcase covers**, meaning you can tailor visuals specifically for the Showcase Page without affecting other areas of your platform. #### Showcase Covers for Categories Adding a separate showcase cover can give your categories a new look.   To give your categories a fresh look within the Showcase Page, you can upload a **separate Showcase cover** for each one. This allows you to present a more engaging and visually consistent layout, especially in the **Licensed Categories**, **Unlicensed Categories**, and **Licensed by Category Image** sections. ####  How to Add a Showcase Cover to a Category: 1. Go to the **Admin Portal** 2. Use the side menu to navigate to **Content \> Display Categories** 3. Select the category you wish to update 4. Click on **Showcase Cover** 5. Upload a cover image (JPEG or PNG, max 2MB) 6. Save your changes This image will now be displayed on the Showcase Page for that category, without impacting your external marketing pages.  ### No showcase cover image applied for the Display Categories? The following rules will be applied if no showcase cover is applied to a display category. The image will default to the next corresponding top-level category showcase cover image.  If there is no 'Showcase' Image applied to the Top Level category, the first Letter of the Category name will be used.  In the below example, neither the Top Level category 'Region' or 'Europe' has a showcase image applied so the letter 'E' is displayed instead.  ![](https://guide.contentcatalyst.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jun-19-2025-12-39-07-8165-PM.png?width=670&height=143&name=image-png-Jun-19-2025-12-39-07-8165-PM.png) ![](https://guide.contentcatalyst.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jun-19-2025-12-36-35-4085-PM.png?width=580&height=412&name=image-png-Jun-19-2025-12-36-35-4085-PM.png) ### **Report Covers:**   Showcase report covers give you full control over how individual reports appear on the Showcase Page, allowing for a more branded, polished experience for your users. By default, reports without a ‘showcase’ cover will inherit from the reports category cover. This will display the current report covers. If you hover your cursor over existing cursors, you can **Use** the cover or **Delete** it. If you are unsure which version your site is using, contact [support@contentcatalyst.com](mailto:support@contentcatalyst.com). It is possible to add a category-wide report cover to your chosen category. This can help save time, instead of having to add individual covers to each specific report. 🔔 **Please note: **The optimum image size to use is 111 X 155px. ### Add a Category-wide Report Cover  1\. The Edit Category admin area has been added for sites that use the Category Navigator & Showcase features. Category Cover images can easily be applied in this area. **🔔See: [Edit Category ](https://guide.contentcatalyst.com/edit-category?hsLang=en)** **There are a few things to be aware of when uploading Category covers:** - The behaviour of the category-wide report cover is that it looks from the bottom upwards. - This means if an individual report cover is assigned along with a category report cover, the individual cover will be applied to the report. - If a category cover is applied to a top-level category AND a sub-category, the sub-category cover will be applied. - If a report is assigned to two same-level categories and they both have category report covers, it will select the category that appears first in the category tree. The cover will be applied from that category.  - This will also apply to hidden categories. 4\. By adding the cover, it immediately displays a preview. If required you can click **Revert cover** to take it back to its previous cover or to remove it. 5\. Once you are happy with the cover, click **Save** to proceed.
