In order to help you engage with your clients, you can allow your end users to send questions directly to your analysts.
The 'Ask the Analyst' feature will appear on the right-hand side of the table of contents page for a licensed report, as seen in the below screenshot.
🚨 This feature may not be turned on, please get in touch via the Helpdesk if you are interested in enabling this.
Ask the Analyst within a chapter
Users can also send in a question from a report chapter, by hovering over a section and clicking the 'Ask the Analyst' icon (as shown below).
Receiving the question
The email subject will be pre-populated with a breadcrumb trail showing which report and chapter/section the question referred to.
🔔 By default, emails will be sent to the user's account manager, if one is configured. If not, the question will be sent to the general contact email address for the whole site (usually set to info@.. or sales@..).
Using the standard template, the emails will be sent in a format similar to the below screenshot:
If you'd like to customize this, you can also optionally control the recipient email address for Ask the Analyst questions.
This can be found in Global Preferences. By going to Admin>Accounts>Global Preferences>Misc, you can configure this for either the whole site (at a global level), or individually for an account or even per user.
This will override the Account manager's email for Ask the Analyst questions.
Modifying the email template
You can modify this template by going to Admin>Accounts>Email templates and selecting the Ask the Analyst template. Changes must be made in HTML, but several online HTML preview tools are available to help with this.
Changing the wording
We are able to edit the wording of this feature. So if you are interested in this functionality but "Ask the Analyst" won't make sense to your users, please get in touch via the Helpdesk.
