Homepage Customisation Options - Quick Guide

A top-level overview of the customisation options available on your site's homepage

With your homepage, there are a number of ways you can customise it to provide your users with a unique experience.

Below is a list of the options available and they are split between basic and advanced. The more advanced customisation options require CSS/HTML.

Basic Homepage Customisation Options

🔔 Dynamic area = automatically changes in accordance with the governing settings or licenses for a user.

  • All tabs can be removed or turned on (but there needs to be at least one).*
  • The header can be configured to display up to four top-level categories and their first-level sub-categories when a user hovers over the Research tab. This can be added by going to Admin > Site Configuration > Configure page header.
  • List Products by can be customised e.g a 2nd or 3rd level of category tree can be added or a dropdown search option for the categories.*
  • The header can be replaced by a carousel with up to three slides which can have a link when you click on it. This carousel is not dynamic depending on screen size. This can be changed by heading to Admin > Site Administration > Homepage carousel.
  • You can turn on and turn off popular searches in Admin > Accounts > Global Preferences.
  • You can turn the contact account manager widget on and off on the homepage.*
  • Can turn pinned searches on and off.*

Advanced Homepage Customisation Options

  • You can change the content of a custom tab by heading to Admin > Accounts > Global Preferences.
  • Header position, HTML and image can be customised by heading to Admin > Accounts > Global Preferences.
  • A static homepage banner can be added using CSS/HTML. It can be added by heading to Admin > Accounts > Global Preferences.
